Mike Rogers
Board of Directors
Mike is a Senior Manager with Centric Consulting and served in the Ohio Air National Guard for 16 years, most recently as a Master Sergeant in the 178TH Security Forces Squadron. Mike joined the Ohio Air National Guard and served for 8 years as a mechanic on KC-135 aircraft and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After this initial enlistment, Mike attended Franklin University where he received his Master of Business Administration. After a 10-year break in service, Mike reenlisted in Security Forces and deployed to Baghdad Iraq where he was responsible for leading and directing security operations with various agencies. Mike has over seventeen years of Information Technology experience in areas of requirements definition, analysis and design, program and project management, full system lifecycle development, training, and quality assurance. Mike is active in the local community, volunteering with The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition and Rebuilding Together Central Ohio.
Eric Gentzel
Board of Directors
Eric is a Program Manager for OhioHealth, and currently serves as a Major in the Army Reserve. Eric graduated from Ohio University and subsequently enlisted in the Army after 9/11, and served on active duty with the 3rd Infantry Division, including a deployment to Iraq in 2007-2008. After leaving active duty, Eric attended graduate school and received his Master of Public Administration at UNC-Charlotte, and worked as a management consultant for Deloitte Consulting and Navigator Management Partners, providing advisory services for the federal government and multiple Fortune 500 companies in various areas. Currently, Eric facilitates large, complex, cross-functional OhioHealth initiatives for their Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO). Eric is also a Big Brother with Big Brothers and Sisters of Central Ohio and has been active with Pelotonia as a rider and volunteer.
Jon Rust
Board of Directors
Jon is a Run Lead for Sales Operations and Reporting Infrastructure at Nationwide, and currently serves as a Major and Strategic Intelligence Officer in the Army Reserve. Jon graduated from THE Ohio State University and was commissioned as a Military Intelligence officer with a branch detail to Field Artillery, through the Ohio State Army R.O.T.C. program. Jon served on active duty from 2004 - 2009 in the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade and 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), including 2 deployments to Iraq in 2005 and 2007. After leaving active duty, Jon worked in Strategy & Operations consulting at both Deloitte Consulting and Centric Consulting, and since 2013 in process & program management roles in the Marketing and Sales Operations business units of Nationwide. Jon is also on the Board of Governors for The Ohio State Army R.O.T.C Alumni Society and President of the Nationwide Military Associate Resource Group (Columbus Chapter), and is active in other military hiring initiatives throughout Columbus such as the Ohio National Guard Employer Advisory Council.
Jonathan Gill
Overwatch Fellow
Jonathan is serving as the Overwatch Fellow for 2017, in which he supports the daily operations for our organization, and has also been a Mentee in our program as well. He is a licensed social worker in the state of Ohio and current graduate student pursuing his Masters of Social Work at The Ohio State University. Jonathan served in the United States Marine Corps from 2010 to 2014 as a combat engineer with the 9th Engineer Support Battalion, to include a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After his service, Jonathan began attending The Ohio State University and has been very active in the community, to include serving as the Community Adviser for the OSU “Veteran House” and volunteering weekly at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center and Columbus Free Clinic. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys building bridges between people, passions, and the resources needed to empower people and enhance the communities they exist within.
Scott Caine
Board of Directors
Scott is the Chief Information Officer for Atlas Butler, and is a tenured leader with more than 25 years of organizational leadership experience. He has served in organizations ranging from the United States Army, to small boutique consulting firms to large enterprises with diverse roles including Operations, Business Systems, Marketing, and Sales. He also has more than 15 years in nonprofit board leadership experience, ranging from very small to large organizations, and in a variety of roles from Philanthropic Chair to Board President. In his most recent adventures, he served as the CEO of the GroundWork group - a nonprofit technology firm, and prior to that spent more than a decade with Verizon Wireless, where he was a Marketing Director, lead a strategic Business Sales team, and worked with Operations and Business Systems. Mr. Caine resides in Worthington, OH with his wife Christy and their two sons.
Cheryl Grossman
Board of Directors
Cheryl has over 30 years of experience in relationship building, community outreach and government relations and is the Director of Corporate Engagement for LifeCare Alliance where she will help the agency build relationships with state and local government and other groups. Prior to that, Cheryl was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, where she had risen to GOP leadership. Before the legislature, Cheryl was Grove City's mayor for 12 years. She is a current board member on the Central Ohio YMCA Metropolitan Board, the Southwest Education Foundation, and the Grove City Rotary Club. In addition, Cheryl worked for many years with Ohio Means Jobs to create a separate designation for veterans on their website to prioritize and identify veterans to potential employers. She was keenly involved in the renovation of the Ohio State University Veteran's House, where some of the 2,000 veterans attending OSU can live. She has partnered with Gino Zimmer, founder of the Ohio Flags of Honor and Gold Star father, with enhanced opportunities for the organization, coordinated letters of thanks to Honor Flight honorees from all levels of state government for each of the flights the past eight years as well as been a guardian on the flights.
