
Katie Foster
Director
Katie is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, including 14 years as an emergency department nurse. Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, she served in roles that involved process and operational improvement, (including length of stay and patient flow), strategy development, provider informatics and change management with OhioHealth.
As an Assistant Vice President with Kaufman Hall, Katie assists clients in making large-scale, transformational changes in their organizations. She achieves dramatically improved operating performance by using Lean Six Sigma and other proven high reliability methods. Recently, Katie joined the Infection Prevention team, where she combines her high reliability skills with nursing and patient safety skills, to assist organizations in achieving increased patient safety while also avoiding costly hospital-acquired condition penalties.
Katie holds an associate and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University, and an MBA, with a focus in healthcare administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. She is passionate about the military and assisting Veterans as her dad is a Veteran Navy, husband is Veteran Air Force and her nephew is in the Marine Reserves.
In her free time, Katie enjoys volunteering at church, spending time with family, riding bikes, hiking and traveling with her husband Shawn, and hanging out their 3 dogs: Oscar, Rudy and Bella.
